Water Conditions: No gauge available, water is slightly tinted from the recent rain with low-moderate flow

Optimal Condition: Heavily limestone tinted water with moderate-high flows

Water Temperatures: 46-51F

How’s it Fishing? Nymphing with #16-18 nymphs, primarily Walts worms, pheasant tails, & perdigon’s as well as squirmies on 5-7x tippet has been the most productive tactic. There are still a few #18-20 late olives, #20-24 midges, and #16-20 tan caddis around, so you may run into a sporadic riser or two in the afternoon. Fish are on the aggressive side as well, and should have no problem chasing a streamer. Look for the bigger runs and deeper pockets. Non-spawning fish are moving out of the riffles and are more prevalent in the knee deep and deeper water. It’s not quite winter fishing yet, but it’s getting there, and we’ll probably see even more fish shifting to the winter water over the next few weeks. If you choose to fish during the spawning period, avoid the redds and avoid fishing to spawning fish. It’s up to you to protect our resource.
