How’s it Fishing? Flows are still on the low side, but Spring Creek has held out better than many of our other rivers with the drought this fall. Fish are still pretty happy throughout the day, and willing to eat. Target the deeper areas, anywhere more than about mid thigh will certainly hold fish. Chartreuse mops, orange eggs, Walts, and Pheasant tails (#18) will all catch fish. I’ve been sticking to 7x, but they are not very picky at the moment. If you decide to fish, be careful of spawning fish and redds! It’s best to stay lower in the system.

Hot Flies: Walt’s worm (16-20), pheasant tail (16-20), mops (10), Zebra midges (18-20), Weis’s Penny (18-20), olive/black France flies (16-20), Squirmy worms (12-14)
