Presentations
In-person speaking engagements for shops, clubs, and organizations
What would you like to hear about?
The only thing I love (almost) as much as fly fishing, is talking about fly fishing. I’ve presented to a number of audiences on techniques, travel, and destinations. Everything from Fly Fishing 101 to DIY fishing Patagonia. If you’d like to have me speak at your shop, organization, or club meeting, let me know and we can come up with the perfect presentation for you. We can set up a virtual presentation if you’re located further than a few hours, or I can come to you for an in-person talk! Rates are affordable, but vary with topic (mainly if I have to make a new PowerPoint) and distance. You can book using any one of the methods below:

Tying Demos & Classes
Fly tying classes are how I was introduced to the sport as a kid, and I know it’s the same for many people. They offer a great way for anglers to step into fly fishing or different segments of the sport, like euro nymphing. They also give anglers a pretty good reason to get out of the house and hang out at the fly shop during the colder months!
Popular Classes

- Flies from the World Fly Fishing Championships
- Tactical Dry Flies
- Tying Goop Head Musky Flies
Competitive Fly Fishing
I’ve been fly fishing competitively for over a decade, for both the US Youth Fly Fishing Team and Fly Fishing Team USA. In that time I’ve competed in four World Fly Fishing Championships, helping the team earn medals in three. Some of my most popular presentations have been about my experiences at the championships and the lessons, tactics, and techniques I’ve learned over my competitive career.

Fishing Techniques
I’ve given some more technical presentations on specific techniques and styles of fishing. Nymphing presentations tend to be the most in-demand, but I also have decks on dry fly, streamer, and wet fly techniques, as well as musky fishing techniques.

Destination Angling
I’ve been fortunate enough to fish some of the best fly fishing destinations in the world, both for fun and competition. I’ve cast a fly in nine countries and twenty six states, including DIY fishing in both Patagonia and the Amazon Transition Zone for six weeks. I’ve given presentations on traveling to and DIY fishing these destinations.

Uncommon species
I love trout fishing, but I love figuring out and catching new species maybe a little but more. To date, I’ve caught 100 species on the fly. There’s something about successfully landing a new species that not much else can stack up to.
