Orvis PRO Mens Waders
I’ve had a number of pairs of Orvis Pro’s over the past few years, and they’ve been one of my favorites I’ve tried. For my build (6’2” 180lbs), the medium long Pro’s have the best fit, and are comfortable but not baggy. They have good durability without being too bulky- I usually get 10-14 months out of them (150-200 days on the water). The built in kneepads are a huge plus as well.
Simms G3 Guide Waders
The Simms G3 Guide waders were a favorite of mine. They had a nice fit, and unmatched durability. I still have a few pairs of G3’s from 2017-19 that I wear to this day and have minimal leaks. Simms when through a rough patch with quality, but I currently have a pair of G3’s that seem to be great.
Simms FlyWeight Neoprene Booties
The Simms Flyweight neoprene booties are a high quality pair of wading socks. They’re comfortable and durable. I’m currently on my second pair- my first lasted over a decade of hard use!
Recommended Wading Boots
Orvis PRO Wading Boots
The Orvis PRO’s are my favorite pair of wading boots. They’re light, durable, and comfortable. They offer great ankle support and stability. My pairs usually last well over 2 years of hard use before I replace them. The sole is grippy for a rubber boot, though nowhere close to felt. I like both the laced and BOA versions- the current BOA system is way more durable than previous models I’ve used. They are true to size.
Orvis Clearwater Felt Boots
The Clearwater Felt boots are a great, low cost felt option. The upper is similar to the Pro boots, though a bit heavier when wet and less durable. The felt soles are durable, but a bit thinner and less long lasting than some more expensive options on the market. They’re unbeatable for the price though.
GripStuds Tungsten Carbide Wading Boot Studs
In my opinion, GripStuds make the best boot stud on the market. They are ultra hard, sticky, and durable. The auger threads keep them locked in the boot sole for years, and more often than not they’ll outlast the boot itself. I use the model 1100 for felt boots and the model 3000A for rubber.
